Bulgaria and Turkey 2006
From Worldtraveller
A total solar eclipse on 29 March 2006 was visible from Turkey, and as it was five years since I last saw one - in Zambia in June 2001 - I thought I'd make a trip to see it. I decided to fly to Sofia, and travelled from there to Istanbul and then on to my chosen eclipse viewing location at Side on the Mediterranean. I travelled back via the famous terraces of Pamukkale, and Bulgaria's second city Plovdiv.
