China 2007 - Macau
From Worldtraveller
From Hong Kong I took a fast boat across the Pearl River Delta to the other colonial relic, Macau. Much smaller than Hong Kong, it also appeared much less prosperous. Apart from the vast casinos, the skyline was dominated by crumbling tower blocks, which looked threatening on the misty, humid day I was there.
Towards the end of the day, the mist cleared and the sun briefly broke through, encouraging me to take a trip up the Macau Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world.
