Naïve travellers that we were, we were completely blown away by the scenery on our bus journey to Akureyri, but we later realised that it's one of the more mundane bus routes in Iceland. We enjoyed a few hours relaxing in the sun by the sea in Akureyri before getting another bus from there to Mývatn.
