La Palma 2003 - Exploring the caldera

The Caldera de Taburiente is a hugely impressive place, totally dominating the centre of the island. The William Herschel Telescope is close to the start of a nice walk up the crater's edge, and I also enjoyed driving up to the summit of the island after I'd finished a night on the telescope and enjoying the amazing views without anyone else around.
