I'd been keeping an eye on Malta for a while. Budget airlines started flying there a while ago but it wasn't until December 2007 that I managed to make a free weekend and very cheap flights coincide. So as winter in London really started to kick in, I headed off to the middle of the Mediterranean for a sunny weekend on the island.
