My trip to Australia in 1998 was my first visit to the Southern hemisphere. They see parts of the Milky Way far brighter than we do up here in the UK, and I was lucky to get some astonishingly dark skies in the desert near Uluru. Here's some photos I took - all using Fuji Super HG 1600 film and exposures of about 25s.
