I've finished writing about Eastern Europe - pictures to be uploaded imminently. I've also done pages about Malta, and will soon have uploaded photos from Sweden and Denmark, the Denmark portion of which lasted an entertaining 15 minutes, and Budapest.

I'm sorting out the Eastern Europe pages now, having scanned all the photos. I've also created a small section of the site about why I think that climate change is real and is a problem. In these times when there are endless noisy people with ulterior motives doing their utmost to discredit the science behind it, I thought it might be useful to say why I am convinced by the evidence.

I'm getting up to date! Now I've finished putting up photos from April's trip to China. My personal favourite photo from the trip is probably this one. Next up will be photos from La Palma in June.

Two years ago today I was trekking in wild mountains in Patagonia, and finally I've finished writing the story of my travels in South America. Pictures will be going up shortly.

I got bored of the first redesign pretty quickly so I've done another. Now to start uploading some of my new scans, after a herculean effort to scan in over 100 rolls of film over the past few weeks.

I've given the site a little bit of a makeover in the last few days. I think it looks better. Content-wise, I'm not adding much at the moment but will be putting up a lot more photos soon. My old Acer Scanwit was a nice little scanner, and excellent value for money, but it was seven years old and technology has moved on. I've now invested in an Epson 4990, which is massively better on negatives and quite a lot better on slides than the old scanner. It can also scan 20 slides at once, instead of 4, so after years of procrastination I'm scanning in many old rolls of film. In particular, I've rescanned all my photos from Iceland and Central America. There's quite a few photos where the old scan just wasn't very good at all, so I'll be uploading new scans soon. In particular, the new scanner gets awesome scans of aurora shots without any difficulty at all, where the old one had major problems.

Hopefully I'll find the time soon to add photos from Eastern Europe 2007. The journey was great fun and I took lots of photos, but I've been so busy I haven't even got the film developed yet.

In advance of a trip which will generate a lot of photos, I'm trying to get all my old trips sorted out. I've put up photos from recent trips to Barcelona and Porto, and will soon put up photos from China and my fourth trip to La Palma.

Meanwhile, I'm beginning to regret publishing a blog - it's getting spammed at least 20 times a day and it's incredibly tiresome to deal with it. But I know that at least three people read the thing, so will carry on with it for now!

Since October 2005 I have had no idea where my photos from Latvia and Lithuania 2005 were. I moved house twice and unlike the rest of my photos they didn't appear where I expected them to as I unpacked. But today, sorting through boxes of rubbish, I found them. It's amazing how much photos bring back memories and I've been looking back on a great trip, while scanning in the photos. Pretty poor quality scans unfortunately, because my film scanner is on its last legs so I resorted to my flatbed scanner, but never mind, you can still see the photos in Category:Latvia and Category:Lithuania.

I've put up photos from my La Palma trip last October. There will be some film shots to be added later, when I get around to scanning them. Also uploaded some China photos - lots more to come there. I also finally finished stitching together panoramas that I took in South America - only took a year and a half. That's given me fresh motivation to write up the rest of the trip and upload just a couple of hundred or so of the 5,000 or more photos I took. Hopefully I'll do that soon!

On a non-travel note, I set up a fully-functioning blog instead of a cheap imitation of one, so anyone who I am rude about in my weekly reviews of the goings-on at the Prince of Wales can now be rude back, right here on my web page.

Well, I was supposed to be in Slovakia this weekend but I missed the plane because the Stansted Express was badly delayed. So, instead of walking in the mountains in my first new country of 2007 I spent the weekend in north London doing almost nothing, except write a bit more about South America. Also new since I last wrote anything here are photos from another visit to Santiago de Compostela, and I've uploaded pictures from a recent trip to Finland as well. I've been to La Palma and Granada in the last few months as well - photos for those need to be scanned in though and that will require a couple of free weekends...

At last: Bulgaria and Turkey 2006! Also new pages for Provence 2006 and Denmark and Sweden 2006. And I made a flash map for Memorable journeys I've made. I've just resumed a career in astronomy so I hope I'll be expanding that page soon as well.

The South America journey slowly makes its way around the continent, latest installment is from Torres del Paine in southern Chile. I'm also scanning in photos from Bulgaria and Turkey and those pages should be up soon. And I've been to France and Denmark in the last two months as well - photos from those two trips will be up shortly.
